Here's the deal—AI is taking over the world and it's not going anywhere anytime soon. Business analysts, economists, and tech experts agree that AI is the way of the future. It's only a matter of time before everything we do is somehow connected to this emerging technology. And as someone in marketing, you can't afford to ignore it. But here's the good news—AI can greatly benefit you. Hear me out. I work for a publicly-traded company and they just released an AI policy a few months ago. Essentially, the entire policy screams fear. As with anything unfamiliar and new, AI is being treated as a threat. In the policy, they prohibit using AI of any kind unless it's approved. Want to use tools like ChatGPT or Gemini—nope. If you want to use something, you have to submit it to the AI committee, which will then take 6-12 months to get back to you on whether it's approved for use or not. From there, they'll include some guidelines on how to and how not to use it. This policy is not only stifling creativity and innovation, but it's also a major waste of time. The rate at which changes and innovations happen in AI is in weeks, if not days. So if it takes months to get something approved, it's already outdated and/or a new one has already replaced it as a better tool. In a few years, unless this changes, I believe the company will be overtaken by others who embrace AI and use it to their advantage. But I digress. That's another story for another time. Whether you use AI in your line of work or for personal use, it can benefit you immensely. Using AI at work, you can:
And that's just scratching the surface. There's a lot more you can do with it. For instance, NVIDIA is leveraging AI to design its own chips. Although this may be a specific use case, the point I want to convey is that AI has the potential to be utilized across pretty much everything you can think of. For your personal use, you can use AI to:
The possibilities are endless with artificial intelligence. So why am I telling you all of this? Because I don't want you to get left behind. As AI continues to advance, those who embrace it will have a competitive edge in their field. Don't be the one playing catchup. When ChatGPT first came out at the end of 2022, many thought it would replace people's jobs, particularly those working in the creative field. But here we are in 2024—almost two years later—and do you know what happened? AI didn't replace people's jobs. The people who use AI did. And that's what's going to continue to happen. Don't let that be you. If you have questions or don't know where to start with AI, reach out to me. I'm happy to help you navigate this new and exciting world. Simply reply to this email. Her go-to phrase in the short months I've been her direct report is...

This week I wanted to talk about something I struggle with a lot – making decisions. Let me explain… As an introvert, I tend to be analytical and constantly inside my head. I like to think things through before making a decision and I want to be sure that my decisions are the right ones. In addition to being an introvert, I am also very conscientious. I take my time to think things through and analyze the pros and cons of every situation. Does that sound like you? This tendency for...
